Job summary

Apave America Inc. is seeking experienced NDT/RT/CR Level II Technicians for immediate, full-time positions at client sites in El Dorado, KS. You will perform NDT inspections (RT, CR, MT, PT) and independently report findings in accordance with codes, standards, and procedures.

You will set up and calibrate NDT equipment, interpret results, and train Level I staff while ensuring safety and compliance across diverse environments typical of manufacturing, aerospace, and energy sectors.

Qualifications

• ASNT Level II Certification in RT, UT, MT, PT as applicable.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Current IRRSP Card or State Card required for Radiographers.
• Must possess technical background in Computed & Digital Radiography methods and procedures with demonstrated ability to set up, calibrate, and perform assigned CR/DR tasks as well as interpret and evaluate results of inspections with respect to codes, standards, and specifications.
• Must have working knowledge of CR/DR equipment.
• Must be able to organize and report accurate results of CR/DR tests.
• SNT Level II certification in RT required for Radiographers; SNT certifications in MT/PT/UTT/PMI are assets.
• Must provide proof of classroom training hours in RT/CR.
• Must have 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training.
• Must follow verbal and written instructions and train assistant radiographers.
• Current SPRAT and/or IRATA Rope Access certification assets.
• Valid Driver’s License and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Pre-employment background checks will be required.

Apave America has immediate openings for experienced NDT/RT/CR Level II Technicians for full-time/nested positions within one of our client sites located in El Dorado, KS.

Position Overview:

The NDT Level II (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician is a skilled professional who independently performs inspections on materials and components using various NDT methods like Radiography Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or Penetrant Testing (PT), to detect flaws or defects while adhering to established standards and procedures, interpreting results, documenting findings in detailed reports; essentially acting as a quality control inspector with advanced NDT knowledge and certification to work autonomously on complex projects and.

Technical background in Computed & Digital Radiography methods and procedures with demonstrated ability to effectively set up, calibrate, and perform assigned CR tasks as well as interpret and evaluate results of inspections with respect to the applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

In this role, the NDT/RT/CR Level II Technicians must have sufficient technical knowledge and skills to be qualified to set up and calibrate equipment and to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. The RT Level II must be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and shall exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and RT Level I personnel. The RT Level II must be able to organize, and report results of NDT tests.

Key responsibilities of a Level II NDT Technician:

• Performing NDT Inspections

Setting up and calibrating NDT equipment, conducting tests using assigned NDT methods, interpreting test data, and identifying defects according to relevant codes and standards.

• Technical Expertise

Understanding the limitations of different NDT techniques, selecting appropriate methods for specific applications, and applying proper testing procedures.

• Data Analysis and Reporting

Accurately documenting inspection results, including detailed reports with clear descriptions of findings, photographs, and recommendations.

• Compliance with Standards

Adhering to industry standards such as ASNT (American Society for Nondestructive Testing) guidelines, applicable codes, and client specifications.

• Quality Control

Ensuring the accuracy and reliability of NDT inspections by performing quality checks and maintaining proper equipment calibration.

• Communication and Collaboration

Interacting with engineers, quality inspectors, and other personnel to discuss inspection requirements, findings, and potential corrective actions.

• Safety Practices

Following safety protocols and procedures while working in various environments, including confined spaces or at heights.

Requirements for a Level II NDT Technician:

• ASNT Level II Certification

Must hold a valid Level II NDT certification in the specific method(s) they will be using (e.g., RT, UTT/UT, MT, PT)

• Technical Knowledge

Thorough understanding of NDT principles, equipment operation, and applicable codes and standards

• Practical Experience

Prior experience performing NDT inspections in relevant industries

• Strong Analytical Skills

Ability to interpret complex data and make accurate assessments of inspection results

• Attention to detail:

High level of precision and accuracy in performing inspections and documenting findings

• Field duties require indoor/outdoor work in diverse industrial environments with varying weather conditions

• Interaction with a wide range of stakeholders

• Working in a plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels

• May be required to work from various levels of heights and/or in close, confined spaces for long periods of time

• Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection (PPE)

Physical and Mental Requirements:
