Job summary

Centennial School District ISD12 in Pines School seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under a licensed teacher’s supervision. You will help implement IEP goals and foster student independence in a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include supervising students, reinforcing skills, assisting with ADLs, and collaborating with the case manager, teachers, and therapists. Position is 7 hours/day, starts ASAP, wage $21.07–$22.63 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must be highly qualified: two years of college credits (60 credits) or an associate's degree or higher or a passing score on ParaPro/Paraeducator Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Supervision of students indoors and outdoors, including transitions, lunch, recess, and community activities.
• Reinforcing academic skills with individual students or small groups.
• Assisting students with activities of daily living (ADLs): eating/feeding, transferring and mobility, toileting/diapering, dressing, hygiene.
• Facilitating behavioral redirection and implementing de-escalation strategies per IEPs and district protocols.
• Collecting and recording data on student goals/objectives as part of IEP implementation.
• Collaborating with the case manager, classroom teachers, and related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, nurses).
• Completing Third Party Billing documentation as trained.
• Participating in required PD, training, and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned; paraprofessionals may be reassigned as needed.

Position: Special Education Paraprofessional

Hours: 7 hours/day - 7:20 am to 2:50 pm
The Special Education Paraprofessional provides direct support to students with disabilities under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. This position assists in implementing individualized education plans, supporting student independence, and maintaining a safe and productive learning environment. Paraprofessional assignments are based on student need and may change throughout the school year; staff may be reassigned to a different student, classroom, building, or program as determined by district administration.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities MAY include, but are not limited to:

• Supervision of students indoors and/or outdoors, including during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities.
• Reinforcing academic skills with individual students or small groups under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Assisting students with activities of daily living (ADLs), including eating/feeding, transferring and mobility, toileting/diapering, dressing, and hygiene.
• Facilitating behavioral redirection and intervention in alignment with student behavior intervention plans and district protocols, including implementation of de-escalation strategies.
• Assisting with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including collecting and recording data on student goals and objectives
• Collaborating and communicating with the assigned case manager, classroom teachers, and related service providers including Physical Therapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), School Nurses, and others
• Completing Third Party Billing documentation as required and trained
• Participating in required professional development, training, and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
• All Centennial paraprofessionals may be assigned to other positions as determined by the district.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Must be highly qualified:
  1.Have at least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education;or
  2.Hold an associate's degree or higher;or
  3.Have a passing score on an approved, formal assessment (ParaPro or Paraeducator Assessment)

WAGES:
Ranging $21.07 - $22.63 per hour, dependent on experience
