Region One School District is seeking a Short-Term Mathematics Teacher for grades 7–8 at North Canaan Elementary School in North Canaan, CT. This temporary position lasts up to 60 school days and focuses on engaging, inquiry-based math instruction.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and CT certification (preferred). They will differentiate instruction, assess student progress, use data to guide lessons, and collaborate with staff and families to support student

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred).
• CT teaching certification preferred.
• Experience or coursework in math content preferred.
• Knowledge of Common Core, inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with instructional technology.
• Ability to meet background checks and pre-employment screening requirements.
• Reliable transportation; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging 7–8 mathematics instruction and content-area literacy.
• Foster a student-centered, inquiry-based classroom environment.
• Integrate and model social-emotional learning and self-advocacy skills.
• Assess student performance and use data to guide instruction.
• Participate in MTSS, data, team, staff, attendance, and climate meetings.
• Communicate proactively with families regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administration.
• Attend professional learning aligned with district initiatives.
