Sheridan School District No. 2 invites a licensed ELA teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 year. This full-time exempt position reports to the School Principal and emphasizes differentiated instruction in a collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate holds a Colorado teaching license with endorsement, a Bachelor's degree or higher, and has completed a state-approved teacher preparation program or alternative route. Strong classroom management and data-informed planning are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Colorado Alternative, Provisional, or Professional Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college.
  • Completed a state approved Teacher Preparation Program or participation in an Alternative Teacher License program.
  • Passed PRAXIS exam in Colorado or in a CDE-approved state.

Responsibilities

  • Plan instruction consistent with the district-approved curriculum for assigned subject area(s)/grade level(s).
  • Use formal and informal methods to assess the abilities and needs of students.
  • Plan effective use of class time.
  • Apply principles of teaching/learning to enhance student achievement.

  • Modify instruction to meet student needs.
  • Communicate effectively with learners.

JOB TITLE:7/8 ELA Teacher

LOCATION: Fort Logan Northgate

WORK YEAR: 2026-2027

WORK STATUS: Licensed, Full-Time Exempt

REPORTS TO: School Principal

Fort Logan Northgate is seeking a dynamic individual to join our ELA team for the upcoming school year.The applicant must be collaborative, aware of current productive pedagogical practices, and eager to impact young people. The chosen candidate will focus on supporting students in a differentiated classroom setting. Candidates must believe that all students can learn, have excellent classroom management skills, and a strong understanding of how data can help inform intentional planning.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL TEACHING POSITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

CLEARANCE

Must clear online background check and FBI Fingerprint check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

SALARY

Placement on Licensed Teacher salary schedule based upon previous teaching experience andhighest degree andcollege credits earned afterstudent teaching was completed. The current Board-approved Licensed Teacher Salary Schedule and Salary Placement Policy are available for review on our district website atwww.ssd2.org.

The annual salary for this position will be determined by number of hours scheduled to work each day and number of days scheduled to work each year. The computed annual salary will be spread out in equal payments over 12 months. Sheridan School District employees are paid once a month on the 1st working day of the month that is not a weekend day or holiday.

Employees who are scheduled to work 30 or more hours per weekare eligible toobtain district health benefits, which include medical, dental, vision,life, and disabilityinsurance and supplemental benefits. Positions that qualify for health benefits also qualify for leave, which could include vacation and daily leave to be determined by the position and number of days assigned. Sheridan School District No. 2 is a public employer and participates in the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). All employees are required by statute to contribute 11% of their salary on a pre-tax basis to PERA. The District also contributes a 21.4% in addition to the employee contribution.
