MVRCS students in Grades K-12 follow a dress code and attend school for 200 days of instruction, 20 more than most public schools. Our school day is 60 minutes longer than most traditional schools, enabling us to provide our students with the opportunity to receive a world-class education.
MVRCS seeks a passionate and dedicated Math/Science Teacherfor Grades 7-12. The ideal candidates will deliver rigorous instruction in line with our proven curricula,Saxon Math and Core Knowledge for middle and high school mathematics and science, respectively. Teachers may also be responsible for International Baccalaureate (IB) coursework in their subject area.
Implement the Saxon Math and Core Knowledge curriculum, along with IB coursework for high school students.
Deliver lessons that are based on clear learning objectives and aligned with the curriculum.
Regularly assess student progress and provide progress reports and report cards as required.
Administer standardized testing as directed by theDepartment Chair and Leadership Team.
Participate in weekly collaboration meetings with the Mathematics/Science Department.
Maintain classroom discipline using the school’s assertive discipline model.
Attend staff meetings and professional development programs.
Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Assistant Director.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject (Mathematics,Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or General Science).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to write reports and correspondence effectively.
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
Experience evaluating student skills and providing feedback.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks effectively.
Experience with or willingness to implement the Saxon Math (Math) and Core Knowledge (Science) curricula, and IB methodologies.
Successful completion of applicable MTEL tests within one year of employment.
Ability to perform duties in compliance with all school policies, state and federal laws, and MVRCS procedures.
Position will report to their respective Department Chairs and be evaluated annually.
