Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, located in Malden, MA, has provided students with a rigorous and structured academic experience since its founding in 1998. Position Overview
This is a dynamic opportunity for an educator who is passionate about history and committed to student achievement in a highly structured academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in accordance with the Core Knowledge and International Baccalaureate (IB) frameworks

  • Teach five subject-area classes, each meeting daily, as assigned

  • Develop and implement clear, objective-based lessons and units of study

  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing timely progress reports and report cards

  • Administer standardized assessments as directed by the History Department Chair and school leadership

  • Collaborate regularly with colleagues and the History Department Chair to align curriculum, share best practices, and analyze student data

  • Uphold classroom management standards using the school’s assertive discipline model

  • Attend all staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Assistant Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in History or a related field (required)

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Ability to assess student performance and communicate results effectively

  • Skill in data analysis and instructional decision-making

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, educational regulations, and school policies

  • Experience evaluating student progress and writing interpretive reports

  • Strong teaching, coaching, and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of history instruction best practices and related content-area requirements

  • Ability to develop and deliver lessons aligned with school-wide objectives and student needs
