Job Description:

MIT-e is a STEM Magnet program at Sinagua Middle School, emphasizing project and inquiry-based learning to prepare students for the 21st century. It is aligned with the CIT program at Coconino High School.

Position Title: 6th Grade MITE Science/Engineering Teacher

Details: 2025-2026 School Year, 1.0 FTE, benefits offered, ASRS participation (required), start date: 07/29/2025 or 07/23/2025 if new to the district.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Arizona Department of Education certification for Middle Grades Science (6-12)
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning instruction based on Arizona State Standards
  • Assessing student skills and providing classroom supports
  • Creating engaging and relevant lessons
  • Utilizing effective instructional strategies
  • Maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborating with colleagues and engaging in professional development

Applicants should include in their application: current Arizona teaching certificate, fingerprint clearance card, unofficial transcripts, and proof of passing required exams. Out-of-state applicants should provide equivalent certifications and transcripts. The district encourages early application due to processing times.
