Assumption of the Blessed Virgin School is a thriving Catholic school in Pasadena, committed to academic excellence and the spiritual formation of our students. Our junior high program is designed to prepare students for success in high school and beyond through rigorous academics and faith-based leadership opportunities.

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Junior High Advanced Math Teacher to lead our upper-level math courses for grades 6–8. This may include Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry, depending on student placement and school curriculum. The ideal candidate will challenge students academically while supporting their individual learning needs in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach advanced math classes to middle school students (6th–8th grade) with differentiated instruction.
  • Plan engaging lessons that align with California state standards and prepare students for high school math.
  • Integrate Catholic values into daily instruction and classroom culture.
  • Assess and monitor student progress with formative and summative assessments.
  • Collaborate with junior high team members and participate in faculty meetings and school-wide activities.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student achievement and growth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
  • Prior experience in a junior high classroom setting (6th-8th Grades)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
