6th-8th Grade Math Teacher: All Saints of St. John Vianney

All Saints School is a thriving Catholic elementary and middle school dedicated to providing a nurturing and academically challenging environment rooted in the values of the Catholic faith. We are committed to fostering the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth of each student. We seek a passionate and dedicated Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our team and inspire our students in grades 6-8, including Algebra and potentially Geometry.

Job Summary: The Middle School Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging and effective mathematics instruction for students in grades 6-8, including Algebra I and potentially Geometry. This position requires a strong understanding of middle school mathematics curriculum, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and assessment strategies, as well as a commitment to Catholic education.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum, Diocesan standards, and Ohio state standards for mathematics.
  2. Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student learning, collaboration, and problem-solving.
  3. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those who are accelerated and those who require additional support.
  4. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including technology, to engage students in learning mathematics.
  5. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  6. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and mathematics curriculum.
  7. Manage student behavior effectively and consistently, in accordance with school policies.
  8. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to improve instructional practices and school programs.
  9. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in mathematics education and middle school pedagogy.
  10. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to student confidentiality and safety.
  11. Support the Catholic mission and values of All Saints School.
  12. Participate in school events and activities.
  13. Teach Algebra I to eligible students, and potentially introduce basic Geometry concepts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching license/certification in Ohio (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Experience teaching middle school mathematics, including Algebra I.
  • Experience with Geometry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of middle school mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
  • Experience in a Catholic school setting is preferred, but not required.
