Job Description

Teaches by creating a flexible program and environment conducive to learning and personal growth; encourages students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge; provides experiences integrating affective, cognitive, and psychomotor learning; establishes rapport with students and parents; and helps students develop positive self and social perceptions.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinates parent activities and workshops.
  • Develops and implements instructional programs meeting student needs and standards.
  • Guides learning towards curriculum goals, setting clear objectives and employing appropriate methods.
  • Maintains classroom discipline and manages behavior standards.
  • Evaluates and reports on student progress regularly.
  • Administers standardized tests and communicates with parents about student progress.
  • Creates a conducive learning environment and prepares classroom materials.
  • Plans for substitutes and supervises aides and volunteers.
  • Collaborates with staff on student health and behavioral issues.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of APS systems, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
