Job description

Labor One Staffing is looking for skilled Welders for the Ingleside, TX area. Welders will build and repair large structures and platforms. Most fabrication will be done with Fluxcore. Must pass a 6GR skill test. This is an 18-month long project starting in June 2022.


Job Requirements:
  • Read blueprints and drawings or read plan measurements and follow layouts and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components of welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material with power saws to match measurements).
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  • Verify your work that welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety and skills.
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (FCAW, STICK, etc.).
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, squares, calipers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and PPE (face-shield, gloves, etc.).
  • Experience using cutting tools.
  • Ability to measure and cut materials.
  • Pass 6GR Test.
  • Must be willing to work in heights and confined spaces.
Welding Test “6GR”
  • 6” Pipe Sch. 120, (Root / Fill / Cap) with (FCAW).
  • 6” Pipe Sch. XX, (Root / Fill / Cap) with (FCAW).
  • Open root 1/8 in, root face 1/16 in (single-bevel).
  • Gas: 75% Ar - 25% Co2.
  • Must pass Physical and UA.
