Westerman, Inc. in Oklahoma is seeking a 6G Pipe Welder to set up and operate advanced welding equipment, ensuring high quality repairs and conformance to specifications. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork within an employee-owned company environment.

Responsibilities include procedural planning, machine setup, and proactive participation in weld procedure improvements. Candidates must pass 6G tests and possess TIG experience along with basic safety training and blueprint

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass an Open Root 3G MIG/Flux-Ccore Fill in CAP test and a 6G TIG Root Flux Fill in CAP on 2 inch Schedule 160.
• Pipe Welding requires 2+ years TIG and ability to pass weld cert to AWS/ANSI standards.
• Basic safety training required.
• Intermediate math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Must understand volts and amps and adjust accordingly.
• Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and weld symbols.
• Troubleshooting skills and adherence to quality policies.

Responsibilities

• Plans details of working procedure.
• Inspects finished product for conformance to quality assurance procedures.
• Safely operates all advanced welding equipment.
• Sets up, troubleshoots, and makes adjustments to welding machines to maintain production and quality.
• Participates in improvement planning and modification of weld procedures to increase safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Clocks into production jobs and maintains production averages.
• Coordinates with all departments and performs other duties as assigned.
