Job summary

Capitol Boiler Works, Inc. is seeking a Commercial Welder/Fabricator to join our team in the DC Metro region. This full-time role focuses on welding, fabrication, and assembly of mechanical systems for commercial and industrial customers.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of welding experience, be able to read drawings, and perform in multiple welding positions. The position offers competitive pay and benefits with room for certification and skill advancement.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years welding experience; prior certification required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Experience with stick welding and multiple welding positions.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts according to specifications.
• Tack-weld or weld components using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
• Inspect welds and dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
• Read engineering drawings to plan layout and welding operations.
• Maintain records of tests, inspections, and material usage.
• Comply with safety policies and maintain clean, organized work area.
