Job summary

Venture Community Services Inc. in Webster, MA is looking for a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Schedule includes Mon–Sat with morning shifts and a paid training program.

Responsibilities include daily living tasks, community participation, transport, and adherence to Behavior Support Plans and medical guidelines. A sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be active in their lives.
• Assist with household tasks, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc.
• Assist to medical appointments, banking, community activities, outings, and follow plans and goals.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and medical guidelines; administer MAP training as required.

This open position is in a highly behavioral residential home setting. We are seeking candidates with experience working with behavioral individuals.

Schedule: Mon 8a-10a, Tue 8a-10a, Wed 8a-10a, Thu 8a-10a, Fri 8a-10a, Sat 8a-2:30p

Part Time: 16.50 Hours

Salary: $17.50 - 19.00 (Paid Training!)

Location: Webster, MA

Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.

DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals.
• Employees must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above, and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job. Employee must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
