Job summary

Venture Community Services Inc. is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Webster, MA. The role supports adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with daily activities, community participation, and appointments.

The DSP will work Thur and Fri from 11pm–9am (20 hours per week) and receive paid orientation, CPR/First Aid, and MAP training. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered for residential direct care staff, with additional milestone bonuses.

Payrate: $17.50-$19.00

*Part Time employees will receive a $500 Sign on Bonus – residential direct care only

$100 at 6 weeks and $100 at 90 days and $300 at 6 months.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.

DSP workers are provided paid New Employee Orientation, paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP), as well as program and person specific training at the individuals’ home. The DSP must be able to safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency.

DSP workers must maintain certifications, handle job related duties in compliance with Agency policies and follow all DDS regulations/policies.

Requirements

• High School Degree or G.E.D.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site (preferred but not required) and be available by telephone for daily contact.
• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driving license
