Job summary

Braun Intertec Corporation is seeking engineering or construction management students for a 6-month co-op in Urbandale, IA. The program includes in-depth technical training and industry certifications upon successful completion and ability demonstration.

You will perform field testing on soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt, work with project managers and technicians, and gain experience on various construction projects. A safety-minded, physically capable candidate is preferred.

Qualifications

• College student pursuing in engineering or construction management degree or related field.
• Some work-related experience (landscaping, construction, farming, etc.).
• Mechanical aptitude with practical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain valuable field experience and onsite communication with construction crews.
• Take part in 3-day training including safety, soil classification, ACI certification, radiation safety, materials lab and nuclear density gauge training.
• Get paired with a mentor among professional engineers for guidance.
• Learn procedures and exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
• Paid opportunity during the 6-month co-op.
