Job summary

Mid-Michigan Area Public Schools Consortium in Atherton Elementary School is seeking a fifth grade teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher will create a safe, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom aligned with Michigan Academic Standards, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support student growth.

Responsibilities include planning standards-based instruction, differentiating to meet diverse needs, using MTSS and PBIS frameworks, and employing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
Michigan teaching certificate with elementary endorsement(s).
Experience with MTSS, PBIS, and differentiated instruction.
Knowledge of structured literacy aligned with the Science of Reading and HMH Into Reading preferred.
Knowledge of Bridges in Mathematics preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Michigan K–12 Standards and district curriculum.
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
Implement effective classroom management and positive behavior supports.
Utilize district-adopted instructional resources, including HMH Into Reading and Bridges in Mathematics.
Collaborate with colleagues, interventionists, administrators, and families.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Participate in IEP, Section 504, and MTSS processes as appropriate.
Maintain accurate student records and attend required meetings and professional development.
