Job description

Job Title: 5th Grade Teacher

Join to apply for the 5th Grade Teacher role at Owatonna Public Schools.

Position Summary: The 5th Grade Teacher will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners. The teacher will establish collaborative and impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students. They will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning. Candidates must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset, and see that their presence positively impacts students and the school environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN Elementary Teaching license.
  • Student-centered approach.
  • Commitment to ensuring all students learn at high levels.
  • Use of research-based instructional and engagement strategies to meet diverse learning needs, utilizing data and assessments to guide instruction.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students to achieve learning results.
  • Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali are desired.

Rate of Pay: Based on experience and education, per the OEA Master Agreement (pending contract negotiations).
