We are seeking a Middle School Special Education Teacher to join CPA's Special Education team for the 2026-2027 school year. The Special Education Teacher will provide direct and indirect academic and behavioral instruction and support to eligible students in a resource setting and in the general classroom in accordance with individual IEP needs. The Special Education Teacher will also oversee due process requirements for the students on his or her caseload, direct the work of program paraprofessionals, collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators in support of student academic and social/emotional success, monitor student progress and facilitate due process meetings.
The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license in ASD, ABS, SLD or EBD. They will have a strong background in academic and social/emotional skills instruction and in behavior management. The qualified applicant will also possess strong cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills with students, families and staff, and will demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance.
Special Education Teachers at CPA are supported by a full-time, on-site Special Education Coordinator, a Due Process Specialist and a Special Education Coach. All new teachers are paired with a Mentor.
