Role Mission: IDEA Academy teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college, while also embodying IDEA's values daily. Teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement, create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver rigorous instruction, assess for mastery, track progress, analyze data to intervene and adjust, and seek excellence as educators and team members.

What We Offer

Compensation:

• The starting salary for new teachers is $62,500. This role is eligible for stipends based on certifications and leadership roles, ranging from $500-$4,000, with potential to earn up to $10,000 through our Career Pathway. Additional incentives include opportunities for tutoring and Saturday school.

• Additional hourly pay is provided for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

What You Bring -- Competencies

Qualifications:

• High proficiency in the content area, evidenced by certification, field of study, or experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• Experience in a K-12 classroom preferred
• Certifications: Teachers of record for K-3 must have appropriate certification or be willing to obtain it; bilingual, content, and ESL certifications are preferred but not required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability to various situations in the school environment

What You’ll Do -- Responsibilities

Implement state standards and curricula, master and deliver content, submit lesson plans, assess student progress, communicate with families, use technology effectively, manage behavior, foster a positive culture, build relationships, host tutoring sessions, participate in meetings, engage in ongoing professional development, and work a minimum of 40+ hours weekly. Additional duties may include tutoring and Saturday school based on need.
