Position Summary and Responsibilities
Based in Columbus or working remotely within Ohio, certified teachers will utilize the Pearson Online Classroom to support students' curriculum, deliver synchronous lessons, provide interventions and enrichment, and analyze data to diagnose learning needs. Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate commitment to equitable practices, using evidence-based decisions, high expectations, and individualized support for all students.
- Support instruction with recorded lessons, live teaching, and communication with students and parents.
- Provide feedback, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences promptly.
- Communicate regularly with parents, students, and colleagues to develop Learning Plans, monitor progress, and coordinate instruction.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of K-12 curriculum, with detailed focus on grades taught.
- Implement Response to Intervention/MTSS models, using data to differentiate instruction and develop interventions.
- Assist students and families with personalized strategies and support to meet learning goals.
- Build strong relationships with students and families through direct instruction and engagement.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure student success, share responsibilities, and participate in school activities and events.
- Use student data to inform instructional decisions and improve learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, including student files, attendance, and contact logs.
- Coordinate with counselors and advisory staff to support student progress and communication.
- Participate in school events, field trips, and virtual community-building activities.
- Attend professional development and contribute to state testing and recruitment efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Ohio certification to teach 5th grade English Language Arts.
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, punctual, and flexible.
- Focus on student and family needs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
- Effective interpersonal skills for diverse communities.
- Willingness to travel for events and occasional overnight stays.
- Availability for evening hours as needed and ability to work remotely if necessary.
