Job summary

Winona Area Public Schools is seeking a 5th and 6th Grade ELA teacher for a .30 FTE position at Winona Middle School. The role covers 184 days in the 2026-27 school year, delivering instruction, assessing progress, and supporting student success within a collaborative district team.

The ideal candidate holds an Elementary license with ELA endorsement or a 5-12 ELA license; prior experience with IEP meetings and behavior monitoring is a plus. Substituting opportunities exist when not teaching.

Qualifications

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Building Principal, the licensed teacher is responsible for delivering and instructing students in instructional material; evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives; monitoring and evaluating student behavior; completing due process paperwork; participating in individual education plan meetings with colleagues and parents; participating and collaborating with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives, curriculum, and building issues.

Opportunity available to sub when not teaching.
