Job summary

Peraton is seeking a 5G DevOps Engineer to support a research program focused on advanced networking and 5G systems. The role involves deployment, automation, and troubleshooting of complex environments, requiring strong Linux and DevOps experience.

The position is full-time on-site near College Park, MD. The ideal candidate should have experience with networking and the ability to work collaboratively with government and research teams.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience without.
US Citizenship with a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph is mandatory.
Strong understanding of DevOps and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based environments.
Support 4G/5G telecom testbeds, including core network and RAN.
Develop scripts for system provisioning and automation.

Skills

Linux systems experience

Programming/Scripting in Python, Bash, C/C++, Java, Go

DevOps

Container experience (Docker, Kubernetes)

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)

Troubleshooting complex issues

Strong communication skills

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
