Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego seeks a software engineer to implement and verify complex wireless systems for 5G/6G TBS products. You will work on multi-threaded C++ Linux services in a fast-paced CI environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of SW design and development with C++ or strong C with OO concepts.
• Familiarity with 3GPP 4G/5G specs and how to translate them to requirements.
• Familiarity with Linux environment and multicore/multithreaded programming.
• Knowledge of IDEs, build systems, Git, and GDB.
• Familiarity with AI-based tools to improve productivity and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own 5G/6G RAN Layer 2 (MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP) responsibilities.
• Drive 3GPP 5G/6G feature development from spec to commercialization.
• Design and develop L2 functionality, incl. DL/UL channel configuration and data paths.
• Implement and optimize DL/UL schedulers and data-plane paths.
• Interface with NodeB Layer 3 (RRC) and Layer 1 (PHY).
• Debug, profile, and optimize for latency, throughput, and reliability on target.
