Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate embedded software for advanced algorithms and protocols in a fast-paced research environment in San Diego.

You will work on general purpose compute servers that sit above RF and baseband, collaborating with system architects and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end prototypes and pre-commercial demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming and object-oriented software design.
• Understanding of multi-threading and OS fundamentals.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software across the full development lifecycle.
• Interact with system architects to understand high level system design and requirements and accordingly synthesize software designs.
• Contribute to technical design reviews, providing input on architecture and trade‑offs.
• Perform on‑target and off‑target development and debugging with standard embedded tools.
• Optimize performance and timing in real‑time embedded systems.
• Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation, including design descriptions and release notes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
