• $12,500 with a 2-year commitment for experienced LPNs with more than 1 year of experience
• $10,000 with a 2-year commitment for Graduate Practical Nurses with less than 1 year of experience

About the 5A Oncology Geriatric Nurse Residency Program LPN role at UPMC St. Margaret:

UPMC St. Margaret, a four-time ANCC Magnet Designated hospital in Aspinwall, PA, northeast of Pittsburgh, is a community hospital that values its exceptional team. The 5A Nursing Unit is a 34-bed unit that provides medical and surgical services to adult and geriatric patients age 18+ with a focus in oncology. Nurses on this unit are required to obtain the NIH Stroke Scale Certification and will have the opportunity to obtain the Gerontological Resource Nurse Certification through Nurses Improving Care for Health system Elders (NICHE). Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) provide direct patient care and in accordance with UPMC guidelines and state regulations, working in a team-based model with the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities:

• Function as a member of the health-care team, exercising sound nursing judgment.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care using focused assessment.

• Obtain instruction and supervision for new or unfamiliar practices.
• Follow UPMC policies, LPN Practice Guidelines, and State Practice Act.
• Act within LPN Practice guidelines, including IV insertion- UPMC Course offered
