Job summary

Leech Lake Gaming is seeking a Surveillance Operator to observe casino activities and protect assets. You will monitor Pit, Slot areas and other zones, report anomalies to the Shift Supervisor, and maintain detailed shift logs.

No prior experience is required; a High School diploma or GED and strong computer skills are essential. You must meet tribal/state licensing requirements, pass a background check, and undergo drug testing. Shifts vary and confidentiality is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Observes casino activities in Pit, Slot, Vault, and cages.
• Monitors employee guest relations and policy adherence.
• Reports abnormal activity to Shift Supervisor.
• Maintains a daily written activity log for each shift.
• Alerts Shift Supervisor to undesirables or cheaters.
• Reports accidents, illness or safety hazards immediately.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of information.
• Develops knowledge of card counting systems and other cheating methods.
• Keeps updated on all events in the property.
• Attends mandatory meetings and training.
• Keeps confidentiality at all times.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Surveillance Operator observes casino activities and protects property assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observes the action of all Pit, Slot and other areas as assigned: Soft Count, Hard Count, Vault and cages.
• Observes performance of employees in regard to guest relations and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Reports immediately any abnormal activity that requires prompt action to the Shift Supervisor.
• Maintains a daily written account of any and all activities occurring during a shift.
• Is familiar with the current list of undesirables maintained by the Surveillance Manager and remains alert to any undesirables or cheaters in the Casino and reports their presence to the Shift Supervisor.
• Reports any accident, illness or safety hazard observed to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
• Safeguards all confidential information and does not discuss any activities with other employees.
• Strives to maintain a complete knowledge of procedures and policies.
• Develops basic knowledge of card counting systems and familiarizes self with other methods of cheating.
• Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
• Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
• Maintains confidentiality at all times.
• Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
• Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
• Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Able to work flexible hours, shifts, weekends and holidays
• Able to operate a keyboard
• Ability to read and write reports
• Knowledge of Blackjack rules and procedures and casino in-house rules and procedures
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate and repair surveillance equipment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• High level of integrity and honesty.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
• Frequent exposure to tobacco smoke.
• Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
• Visual acuity, ability to visually observe monitors for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 Lbs

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
