Onsite or Remote: Onsite Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to set up and operate Horizontal CNC Lathes, performing a wide range of machining operations. This role involves interpreting process drawings, selecting tools, and ensuring precise machining on various materials including cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous metals. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high-quality standards in a safe and organized environment.

Shift: 3rd Sunday-Thursday

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Set up and operate CNC lathes to perform machining tasks such as drilling, turning, threading, reaming, and more.
  2. Read and interpret process drawings to determine the sequence of operations, tools, and fixture setups.
  3. Monitor machining processes, adjusting feed rates, speeds, and tools as necessary to meet precise tolerances.
  4. Collaborate with the Manufacturing Support Department to develop and refine programs and processes.
  5. Operate machines under keyboard or manual control when needed, and edit programs as required.
  6. Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning and lubrication, ensuring safe operation.
  7. Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Experience in operating CNC lathes and familiarity with speed lathes, overhead cranes, and various machinist tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and understand tolerances, feeds, and speeds.
  • Strong attention to detail in monitoring program speeds and performing close-tolerance machining operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve programming errors, machine malfunctions, and other operational issues.
  • Familiarity with a variety of materials such as cast iron, steel alloys, and non-metallic materials.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Prior experience in CNC programming and editing is a plus.
