Job summary

Avalon Services Group Inc. is hiring a Team Lead to supervise cleaning crews at a distribution center. The role includes coordinating staffing, recruiting as needed, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.

Hourly rate is $19.50 with Monday–Friday shifts. Requires at least two years of supervision experience and a high school diploma; some Spanish is preferred. Benefits start on day one and E-Verify compliance is noted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of supervision experience.
• Some Spanish is preferred to communicate with staff.
• Recruiting experience is a plus.
• Warehouse environment experience is a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software.
• Experience reviewing time clock entries in HRIS.
• Good interpersonal skills with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing for new work orders and special projects; recruit and hire as needed.
• Manage cleaning task schedules (daily/weekly/monthly) and report labor hours in timekeeping software.
• Ensure PPE is available and used; conduct monthly safety tailgate trainings.
• Ensure sanitation guidelines and safety standards are followed; inspect areas for safety and cleanliness.
• Perform warehouse sanitation with staff to support production; complete cleaning tasks on time.
• Maintain bathrooms, restrooms, waste management, and inventory of supplies; follow safety guidelines.

Hourly Rate: $19.50

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Flexible depending on demand)

What You'll Do

Administrative (20%)

• Serve as a customer liaison for new work orders and special projects, coordinating staffing as needed.
• Occasionally recruit and hire new associates
• Manage the scheduled cleaning tasks by their assigned frequency (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Ensure labor hours are accurately reported in the timekeeping software.
• Ensure that staffing associates have the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and that it is used properly.
• Perform and document monthly safety tailgate trainings.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation guidelines and safety standards.
• Inspect areas to maintain a safe and clean environment.

Janitorial (80%)

• Perform warehouse sanitation activities along with the employees to help the customers production.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks on time
• Sweep and mop warehouse floors to ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms and restrooms.
• Manage waste, including keeping garbage containers clean and organized
• Follow safety guidelines
• Refill supplies at eating stations as needed.
• Keep up with housekeeping inventory
• Perform other cleaning duties as needed

What You Need to Qualify

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two years of previous experience in supervision
• Some Spanish is preferred to communicate with the staff
• Previous experience in recruiting is a plus.
• Experience in a warehouse environment is a plus.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software.
• Previous experience reviewing time clock entries in HRIS.
• Good interpersonal skills with a polite demeanor toward staff and clients.

What Physical Activities Will You Do?

• Constant (80%) standing and walking during workday.
• Frequent (50%) pushing, pulling, grasping, stretching, bending, twisting, reaching over head.
• Occasional (30%) stooping, climbing, and squeezing.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs
