$30 - $45 / hour

Responsibilities

The Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA) performs treatments, provides exercise instructions, and educates patients to enhance their well-being, following the established plan of care.

Responsible for adhering to all state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care, performing only procedures for which qualified and trained, and recommending changes to the plan of care to the supervising PT.

Instructs and assists patients with active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.

Observes, documents, and reports patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician. Coordinates care with healthcare team members as appropriate.

Educates patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members within the PTA scope of practice.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

  • Current license, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation.
