Job summary

  • Design and implement behavior intervention plans and conduct functional behavioral assessments.
  • Consult with teachers, families, and agencies about academic, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
  • Support school-wide mental health initiatives and crisis response, including risk assessments.
  • Maintain documentation and comply with regulations.
  • Collaborate in PLCs and district leadership teams for improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and prepare legally compliant, actionable reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations, eligibility determinations, and IEP team meetings.
  • Provide direct psychological services (counseling, behavioral interventions, and social‑emotional support) to students under IEPs.
  • Design and implement behavior intervention plans and perform functional behavioral assessments.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, families, and community agencies about academic, behavioral, and mental-health concerns.
  • Support school-wide mental-health initiatives and crisis response, including risk assessments and post‑vention activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Collaborate in professional learning communities and district leadership teams to promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Valid Rhode Island School Psychologist Certification.
    • Master's, Educational Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
    • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, Rhode Island Special Education Regulations, and eligibility procedures.
    • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data.
    • Ability to provide direct psychological services to students as part of IEPs.
    • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to equitable and inclusive educational practices.
    • Experience participating in multidisciplinary evaluations and determining student eligibility for special education services.
  • Preferred:
    • Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP).
    • One or more years of successful experience as a school psychologist.
    • Experience implementing MTSS and PBIS.
    • Experience conducting FBAs and developing BIPs.
    • Experience providing crisis intervention and risk assessment.
    • Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disabilities, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and learning disabilities.
    • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and community agencies.
    • MLL endorsement or experience working with multilingual learners.
    • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, student information systems, and special education management software.
  • At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Master degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
