Grant Watts Elementary - .5 FTE Special Education Teacher - 2026-27
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- TSPC Licensure in Special Education
- Provides a safe and conducive learning environment; delivers Special Education services to a diverse student population in a structured classroom.
- Provides instruction, maintains student discipline, and is responsible for student academic achievement.
- Specific focus on supporting students with needs in self‑regulation, executive functioning, and social‑emotional functioning.
- Experience working with students who require support in making positive behavioral choices.
- Additional training will be provided if needed to support this area.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support and consult with the classroom teacher to modify instruction and materials for students with learning and/or behavioral disabilities and other handicapping conditions.
- Provide specially designed instruction to assist students in achieving the goals of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and the State Benchmark Standards.
- Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines regarding pre‑referrals (SST), referrals, testing, record‑keeping, and service delivery for students with disabilities.
- Develop a positive working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents, and community.
- Maintain professional confidentiality concerning individual students’ data and achievement.
Salary:
$26,084‑53,024*
*Based on Experience Verification (Salary shown reflects 25‑26 salary schedule. Actual amount to be determined upon conclusion of certified negotiations.)
3% of salary stipend per SEA contract.
Contract:
190 days + 5 Extended Contract Days.
