Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) functions as a member of the patient care team, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA performs clinical tasks such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, applying dressings, using aseptic technique, and responding to medical emergencies with Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. The PCA also responds to patient and family needs and contributes to efficient unit operation, practicing the Patient and Family Centered Care Model. Prior CNA/PCA experience is preferred.
