Job summary

Ace Precision is hiring a 5‑Axis CNC Mill Setup Machinist in Wisconsin, serving aerospace, power, defense, and more. You will map operations, set up multi-axis milling, verify programs, and run first-off pieces in a clean cell.

Expect tool wear checks, SPC data, and multi-machine work as volume grows. Qualified candidates have at least 2 years of related machining experience or training, can hold tight tolerances, and will work from either Oconomowoc or Menomonee Falls with competitive pay and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related machining experience and/or training.
• Experience setting up and verifying 5-axis CNC milling centers and programs.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interpret moderately complex sketches, routings, and specifications to determine dimensions and sequences.
• Visualize multi-axis tool motion up to 5 axes for safe, efficient setups.
• Set up, adjust, verify CNC programs, and operate CNC milling centers and tooling.
• Identify malfunctions and out-of-tolerance conditions; report and resolve deviations.
• Operate multiple machines concurrently to maximize throughput.
• Hold tight tolerances and surface finish requirements on metallic components.
• Inspect parts using bore gauges, rail gauges, and ID/OD micrometers; record data with SPC charts.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a 5-Axis CNC Mill Setup Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Oconomowoc or Menomonee Falls, WI.A day in this jobYou arrive to a clean, well-equipped cell and review the day’s work orders. Starting with the traveler, sketches, and product specifications, you map out the sequence of operations, select tooling, and plan offsets. You set up a 5-axis CNC milling center, load and verify the program, and run the first-off piece. Using bore gages, rail gages, and ID/OD micrometers, you confirm critical features meet close tolerance requirements. You document process data on SPC charts and make precise adjustments within defined limits.
