Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Beavercreek, OH is seeking a Machinist 2 to set up and operate 3- and 5-axis milling machines, interpret blueprints with GD&T, and program G-Code. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and DoD Secret clearance eligibility, with preferred 5-axis experience and composites knowledge.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of related education/experience.
Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical and an Eye Exam.
Experience running machines and setup, especially on 3-axis CNC machines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred: 5-axis CNC experience; associates degree or trade school certification; experience with composites, honeycomb, aluminum.

Responsibilities

Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, and GD&T.
Align and fasten work using fixtures and methods.
Operate 3- and 5-axis milling machines and use precision tools.
Program and edit G-Code and perform basic computations for tooling, feeds, and speeds.
Support lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities.
Escalate errors to supervisor promptly and work under supervision as needed.
