Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Machinist 2 to support our Beavercreek, OH facility. The role entails setting up and operating CNC milling machines with 3 and 5 axes, performing GD&T, and ensuring work is completed to spec in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to pass a DoD security clearance. Onsite work is required due to the nature of the role; benefits include comprehensive health coverage and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to start.
• Must be able to pass an Eye Exam prior to start.
• Must have experience running machines and setup.
• Must have experience on 3 Axis CNC machines.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
• Interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods.
• Use a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Program and edit G-Code and conversational.
• Implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.

This position will be supporting our Beavercreek, OH facilities and requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role. We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications. The role will be responsible for setting up and operating 3 and 5 Axis Milling Machines. The ideal candidate will be able to work under minimal supervision, be a quick learner, and a team player. He / She will have high integrity and understand the importance of escalating errors to their supervisor immediately.

Basic Qualifications for a Machinist 2:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent/GED and 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
• Must be able to pass a New Hire Physical prior to start
• Must be able to pass an Eye Exam prior to start
• Must have experience running machines and setup
• Must have experience on 3 Axis CNC machines
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with 5 Axis CNC vertical machining centers.
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
• Associates degree or Trade School certification
• Experience with composite, honeycomb, and aluminum materials

Primary Level Salary Range:

$46,700.00 - $77,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
