Job Description
SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for preparing and serving meals and food items, cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and equipment per federal and state guidelines, running the register, collecting money from customers and printing reports related to daily sales.

- Prepare meals according to recipes/procedures and in accordance with Health Department guidelines. Check temperatures of food.
- Serve children and staff during serving times, including serving meals, running the register, scanning lunch cards, taking money, looking up children with no I.D. cards, collecting and adding money to individual accounts, restocking food items between serving times, and cleaning all lunch trays and lunch containers.
- Prepare salad items for the salad bar according to recipes/procedures and in accordance with Health Department guidelines. Check temperatures of food.
- Clean kitchen and serving areas: wash and store dishes, store all food, sweep and mop all floors, wipe and sanitize all surfaces, and clean microwave interior and trays.
- Prepare for the next day by pulling needed food items from the freezer and filling vending machines.
- Prepare daily reports and deposits: count all money, balance receipts, make deposits, print reports, count vending money, roll change as necessary, and save daily transactions and reports to disc.
- Clean up work stations before serving: sweep, mop, run dishwasher, put dishes away, and perform extra cleaning as needed such as drains, ovens, milk coolers, rotisserie stations, and filling milk cooler.
- Prepare a la carte items including baking cookies and bread, preparing smoothies, setting up soup and rotisserie stations, and filling milk cooler.
- Pull food items out of storage and refrigerator to start food preparation for the day.
- Turn on all equipment: ovens, warmers, dishwasher, and computer. Check temperatures in milk coolers, freezer, and refrigerator.
- Fill condiments, napkins and silverware.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food preparation experience and/or experience in a school kitchen, commercial kitchen, or restaurant preferred
- Food Handler Certification for Colorado – preferred
- SERVSAFE Manager Certification within 90 days of hire – preferred
