Job summary

Hazel Park School District is seeking a 4th grade elementary teacher for a 10-month, full-time position (1.0 FTE) at United Oaks Elementary. The position reports to the Building Principal and follows the HPEA salary schedule.

Requires a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with endorsement and a Bachelor's degree, plus Highly Qualified status. Candidates should be skilled in data-driven instruction, differentiated teaching, PBIS, and classroom technology integration, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of responsibility with endorsement.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in area of major study.
• Highly Qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind Guidelines.
• Knowledge and/or understanding in consistent use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions.
• Experience in differentiated instruction, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Systems, and individualized programming options for students.
• Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
• Superior communication skills in writing and speaking with all levels of management and staff.
• Applicants must be able to show proof of a satisfactory criminal background check as defined by state standards.

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Provide grades and administer assessments timely.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Provide on-going communication to parents on student progress and classroom activities.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
• Engage students in learning process, differentiate as needed.
• Other duties as directed.

Compensation: In accordance with the HPEA Teachers Salary Schedule.
