Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Teacher, Special Education (IRR) for elementary, middle, or high school. The role involves developing and delivering an appropriate special education program for eligible learners and coordinating with parents to implement IEPs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; GACE Basic Skills Test and Special Education tests or exempted may be required.
Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate.
No teaching experience required, but familiarity with IEPs is expected.
Alternatives to some requirements may be accepted by the Board.

Responsibilities

Develops and implements IEPs for students on caseload, at least annually.
Works with parents/guardians to support student educational programs.
Maintains documentation and submits paperwork on designated timelines.
Delivers instruction aligned to IEP goals and district policies.
Utilizes data-driven behavior management plans based on student needs.
Collaborates with general education staff and resources for students with disabilities.
