Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking a Reading Tutor to support students at a local school in Minnesota. You'll deliver proven reading activities, coach students, and follow a structured schedule with 20-minute sessions each school day.

You'll receive training and ongoing coaching, helping students grow their reading skills while staying engaged with the community and program goals.

Qualifications

  • Must be dependable with good attendance.
  • Able to follow instructions and act on feedback.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (email and online navigation).
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Able to complete a background check.

Position Summary

Students who read have the power to succeed, and we’re on a mission to make sure every student is a strong reader!

Join Reading Corps as a Reading Tutor and you’ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. We’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Every school day you’ll see pairs of students for 20 minutes of reading practice. When your time together is up, you’ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next pair for tutoring. You’ll repeat until all your students are served.

With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you’ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

Essential Qualifications

By the time you begin your service with Reading Corps, you should be:
