Mercy Baptist CDC is seeking a full time 4K teacher to foster a safe and stimulating classroom where children are encouraged to succeed. You must be able to communicate with both parents and children and support development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.

The role requires an Associate degree in Early Childhood or related field, with 6 months of licensed childcare experience, and a warm, reliable attitude. Background checks and TB tests are part of the process.

About This Role

What You'll Do

• Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
• Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
• Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
• Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback
• Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
• Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
• Observe and understand students' behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures

• Knowledge of CPR
• Minimum requirements include
• Associates degree in Early Childhood or
• A degree with some Early Childhood casework
• High School diploma
• At least 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare facility
• Be able to pass a background check
• Be able to pass the central registry check
• TB test
• Physical
• Must have a warm and supportive attitude and disposition toward working with children and their families.
• Must be reliable. Must provide ample notice for time off.
• Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
• Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve work performance.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be physically able to perform the job of a teacher of young children.
