Job summary

Kiddie Academy of Columbia, SC is seeking a compassionate early childhood educator to join our 4K First Steps team. You will create a safe, engaging classroom and develop meaningful learning experiences aligned with First Steps 4K requirements and our curriculum.

You will support each child’s social and academic growth, build relationships with families, and participate in ongoing professional development to ensure high-quality early education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience in licensed childcare is preferred.
• Background checks and TB test/physical required.

We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and dependable early childhood educator to join our 4K First Steps team. This is an opportunity to make a lasting difference during one of the most important stages of a child’s development.

As a 4K Teacher, you will create an engaging classroom where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. You will develop meaningful learning experiences aligned with First Steps 4K requirements and our academy’s curriculum, support each child’s social and academic growth, and build positive relationships with families.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet program and academy standards
• Bring learning to life through hands-on activities, music, movement, stories, technology, and play
• Provide individualized support that builds each child’s curiosity, confidence, and independence
• Observe, document, and assess student development and provide timely feedback
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Create a positive classroom culture that supports children’s social-emotional development
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families about their child’s progress
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, school leadership, and program partners
• Plan meaningful indoor and outdoor learning experiences
• Recognize and report developmental, behavioral, or safety concerns when appropriate
• Participate in training, workshops, and ongoing professional development
• Follow all licensing, health, safety, and First Steps 4K requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• At least six months of experience working in a licensed childcare facility
• Ability to successfully complete all required background and Central Registry checks
• Current TB test and physical examination
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred—or willingness to obtain certification
