Job summary

Ingles Markets in Simpsonville, SC is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager to support daily bakery operations, ensure quality products, and provide exceptional customer service to shoppers. In the Bakery Manager’s absence, this role assumes full responsibility for department management, including supervising staff, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with product inquiries.
• Train, mentor, and support new hires; ensure all team members follow department procedures.
• Manage scheduling, production sheets, and product ordering to maintain efficient operations.
• Oversee department during Bakery Manager’s absence, including staff supervision and disciplinary actions.
• Receive, verify, and stock merchandise; maintain accurate invoices and logs.
• Ensure displays are fully stocked, neat, and appealing; follow proper rotation and pricing procedures.
• Prepare, package, label, and price products accurately; decorate baked goods as needed.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and effectively.
• Monitor compliance with sanitation, safety, and company policies; adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Support space management plans and control damaged goods according to policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
