Job summary

Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Mechanic A to join a growing and dynamic team in Honolulu, HI. The role reports to the shop and requires the ability to work Mon-Fri with a fixed pay rate of $40/hour.

Requires 3 years of mechanic experience preference, ASE certification or equivalent, and a Hawaii CDL/hand tools as applicable. Equal employment opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Repair and diagnose brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Handle wheel seal, bearing, driveline, and U-joint replacement.
• Assist with welding repairs and motor rebuilding.
• Hydraulic hose renewal, cylinder repair, and rebuilding.
• Repair clutch, transmission, differential, kingpin, and suspension.
• Service tires, wheels, and rims.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and keep accurate repair records.
• Manage battery and starter system checks and wiring repairs.
• Assist with emergency roadside breakdown repair.
• Participate in weekly/monthly safety and maintenance meetings.

Position Requirements

1. Valid driver's license required
2. Hawaii CDL Class B without Air Brakes restriction and current DOT Medical Certificate a plus
3. Must possess sufficient hand tools to perform required repairs
4. Must meet requirements of CFR 49, Part 391.11 (General Qualification of Drivers)
5. Familiarity with DOT equipment requirements and CMVSA Out-of-Service Criteria required
6. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and work outdoors in varying conditions
7. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
8. Able to work independently and as part of a team
