Job summary

Auburn University’s Alabama Cooperative Extension System is seeking a 4-H Extension Agent to lead youth programming in Conecuh County, Alabama. The role emphasizes servant leadership, team collaboration, and delivering education across animals, outdoor activities, STEM, gardening, cooking, and more.

You’ll work with local advisory groups, volunteers, and communities to plan, implement, evaluate, and report outreach, while upholding values of service, inclusiveness, accountability and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Serving under the supervision of the County Extension Coordinator, provide programmatic leadership and program delivery to build lifeskills in Alabama youth.
  • Develops leadership and engagement skills to grow and sustain the county 4-H program in five areas of excellence: forming a unified county 4-H team and program, utilizing consistent research-based curriculum resources, diversifying delivery methods, promoting plan-of-work development and teamwork, and aligning staff and position assignments.
  • Diversifies program delivery by learning new programs, resources, and skills offered by PPT, professional organizations, and networks in key 4-H program subject areas: animals and agriculture, creative arts, environmental education, healthy living, leadership and citizenship, outdoor education, and science and technology.
  • Stays current on demographic and socioeconomic change to include diverse voices in program priorit.

Team Description

Extension Agent’s (EA’s), Urban ExtensionAgent’s (UEA’s), County Extension Directors (CEDs), and Specialistsform the core of Extension teams. This EA will participate as acohesive team member working with local clientele, advisory groups,volunteers, and other interested parties to determine regionalneeds for program outreach. As a team member, the EA will partnerwith other EA’s and CEDs to provide educational leadership inplanning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting programsconducted in the region.
