Job Summary

Welcome to 4 East! Join us on one of BWFH's newest units. This role involves working 36 hours during the day, every other weekend, with holiday commitments. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) supports the patient care team under the RN's supervision, performing clinical tasks such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, dressing changes, aseptic techniques, and responding to emergencies with Heartsaver CPR and AED skills. The CNA responds to patient and family needs and contributes to efficient unit operations, practicing Patient and Family Centered Care. The unit is a fast-paced, 37-bed medicine/telemetry teaching unit supporting medical education, caring for adults with conditions like asthma, COPD, renal disease, and more, equipped with telemetry, Vocera, Epic, and virtual observation systems.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Licenses and Credentials: Certified Patient Care Technician (Nursing Assistant) - NCCT required.

Experience: Not specified beyond certification.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or current Nursing Student with Fundamentals of Nursing or clinical rotation experience.
  • Adherence to I C.A.R.E. Standards.
  • Successful completion of approved nursing assistant training.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to pass clinical, math, and reading tests.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations.
  • Computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
