Job summary

Bozzuto's Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Selector in Connecticut to efficiently pick, store, pack and monitor inventory while upholding strict safety and quality standards. You will use voice-directed picking, operate MHE, and ensure pallets are constructed and labeled correctly.

This role requires lifting up to 80-85 lbs, working in varied temperatures, and the ability to work 10-12 hour shifts for a 4-day week, with at least one weekend day. English proficiency and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in distribution, warehouse, or product selection is preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability to follow safety procedures and quality standards.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks) and follow safety rules.
• Perform pre/post shift routines (clock in, stretch, inspect equipment).
• Use voice selection system to pick products per orders.
• Assemble pallets using interlocking method and label correctly.
• Move completed pallets to designated locations and maintain product quality.
• Meet productivity standards and follow HACCP/SQF procedures.
• Help maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment.
• Flexibility to work 4-day weeks with 10–12 hour shifts, including some weekends.

Job description

Position Overview:

As a Warehouse Selectoryour responsibilities include but are not limited to selecting, storing, packing and monitoring the inventory of products and equipment, and performing tasks related to the shipping and transporting of customer orders. The selection tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest quality standard(s) of personal safety, pallet construction with product integrity as a core focus, and efficiency through time management.

Responsibilities:

• Uses powered industrial equipment (center riders, long-forks, forklifts etc) in a safe manner, employing proper lifting techniques when performing job tasks, and adhering to the safety rules at all times
• Following all pre-shift and post shift procedures such as but not limited to – clocking in, stretching, obtaining voice equipment, pre-trip inspection of equipment, cleaning of equipment, returning voice equipment; parking equipment in designated areas
• Utilizing the voice selection system to travel aisle ways and select product(s) based on customer orders dictated through the system
• Properly constructing a pallet utilizing the interlocking case method, attaching selection labels to each in the correct position, securing appropriately with plastic wrap while maintaining product quality at all times
• Maintaining quality standards of product throughout shift – working in a damage free manner
• Transporting completed pallets of selected products to designated bay location(s) based on assigned transaction
• Achieving and maintaining established productivity standards of selection based on company standards
• Select product in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures based on the assigned location
• Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment in the warehouse
• Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

• Varying temperatures based on assigned working environment

Schedule:

• 4 day work week
• 10 to 12 hour shifts
• One weekend (Saturday or Sunday) required

Rate:

• $20.11/hour

Experience:

• Preferred: One (1) year distribution, warehouse or selection experience
• Preferred: MHE experience (Electric pallet jacks such as center riders or long forks; forklifts)
• Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates and leadership

Skills:

• Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practicesthroughout shift
• Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
• Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
