Job Summary

Assist journeyman in planning, layout, and installing forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts for concrete structures, following plans, specifications, codes, and standards.

Use hand tools (hammer, pliers) and power tools (skill saw, vibrator) to measure, cut, assemble, and install forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts. Construct and erect wooden forms, both built-in-place and prefabricated, according to specifications. Insert spreaders and tie-rods to maintain dimensions. Anchor and brace forms using nails, bolts, and other hardware. Build wooden supports and structures as per project specs. Assist in pouring, vibrating, leveling, and finishing concrete surfaces. Remove defects, patch holes, and ensure surface quality. Install items as per plans and specifications. Participate in safety programs, report hazards, and use stop work authority if needed. Follow safety procedures, attend site-specific training, and maintain a safe environment. Communicate effectively, coordinate with team members, and participate in training and mentoring. Read and interpret plans, assist in layout, observe equipment functioning, and report hazards. Operate construction equipment safely if certified, and comply with safety and conduct policies.

Assist in planning, installation, and repair of structures based on plans. Learn to perform layout independently. Observe and report hazards, and take corrective actions. Ensure equipment is operated and maintained properly. Follow all safety rules and company policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience as a helper or laborer in the carpenter craft or similar, with basic knowledge of forms, rebar, and concrete finishing. Ability to follow directions. Must have necessary tools listed in the Carpenter Helper Tool list. Must be at least 18 years old. Able to complete pre-employment checks including background, drug, and driving record checks as required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Lift up to 50 pounds, stand, kneel, bend, and work in confined or uneven spaces. Use hands for control and manipulation. Repetitive movements. Climb and balance on scaffolds and ladders. Work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Exposure to noise and hazardous equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position.
