Job summary

Ryerson in the United States is seeking a Warehouse Operator for the 3rd shift to maintain stock levels and support production on the shop floor. You will pull and stage feedstock, break down bundles, package to specifications, operate daily machinery, and perform truck loading as needed.

Successful candidates will participate in an apprenticeship program during onboarding, with emphasis on safety and measured handling of materials, using cranes and forklifts, and basic computer entry.

Qualifications

• Reading, math, inspections & measurement skills.
• Experience in warehouse and manufacturing settings.
• Forklift/side-loader experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate an overhead crane and use measuring tools.
• Basic computer skills and aptitude for using a computer.
• Ability to pass vision, hearing, and mobility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications
• Work order confirmation on computer
• Operating an overhead crane, forklift, and side loader to move material as needed
• Truck loading/unloading
