Job Description

WP Rawl is a grower, processor, and distributor of over 15 different varieties of fresh vegetables harvested year round and more than 50 different packaged value-added products. Since 1925 our headquarters in the midlands of South Carolina has grown from a small family operation to a business retaining nearly 800 workers shipping products to retailers from Florida to Maine across to Texas and Wisconsin. Description: This position is responsible for scheduling and dispatching all transport driver delivery routes as determined by customer requirements and priorities. The Transportation Dispatch Analyst serves as the direct line of contact to the drivers.

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch drivers and provide first level support for fleet.
• Dispatch outbound truckload shipments for timely delivery to our customers. Work closely with Sales, Driver team and Stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of our goods.
• Develop and maintain a professional relationship with each driver to insure his/her needs are being met by the company.
• The Dispatcher will use company provided software to dispatch drivers. Computer skills are essential, and data entry will be a required process.
• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information
• Monitor the route and status to coordinate and prioritize their schedule
• Proven customer service skills that support strong and loyal relations
• Tracks driver assignments and other shipping data
• Ability to problem solve and work independently
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
• Must be self-motivated and able to manage the stress and demands of the role.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience.
• Must be able to work overnight
• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Organization and planning skills, and high attention to detail.
• Proactive problem-solving and decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task conflicting priorities in a pressured environment.
• Professional customer service skills.
• Good attitude and worth ethic
• Computer skills, with knowledge of Excel and other basic office systems and ability/willingness to learn internal dispatching systems
• Knowledge of HOS regulations.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations is preferred, but not required.
• Reefer experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of McLeod Software is a plus
